Shield parted per pall embowed reversed, above right chequered of Gules and Atgent, above left Argent parted by an off-centred cross Gules, in base Gules three clasps Argent in bend.
Meaning:
All charges are referring to former rulers or local rulers, the chequered field displays the arms of the Farther County of Sponheim, the clasps those of the Lords of Boos from Waldeck. Finally the cross displays the arms of the Archbishopric of Trier.

Meaning:
The tinctures red and white are those of the Farther County of Sponheim. The building is a representation of the municipal hall. The mattock is symbolising forest clearnace and the ears agriculture.

Shield Sable a fess chequered of Gules and Argent, in chief two coronets Or in fess.
Meaning:
The fess has the tinctures of the Frather County of Sponheim, who owned the city and granted partial city rights inn1305. The coronets are symbolising the condominion of the Counts Simon and Heinrich of Sponheim.

Shield Gules three clasps Argent in bend superimposing a crozier Or in bend sinister with staff Sable.
Meaning:
The clasps are taken from the arms of the Boos of Waldeck kin, as the village belonged to the Lordship of Waldeck. The crozier is alluding to the Cistercian Kumbd Nunnery, which owned estates in the village.

Shield Gules, at dexter a plough Argent in bend, at sinister a cross staff Or in bend superimposed by an ear of the same, chief Argent parted by a centred cross Gules.
Meaning:
The chief displays the arms of the Archbishopric of Trier. The plough is symbolising agriculture. Ear and staff are attributes of St. Oranna, the local patron saint. She is said to be a healer of earache. Her chapel was finished in 1784.

Mörsdorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted per saltire, above Argent parted by a cross engrailed Gules, superimposed at its top by a label Sable, at sinister Sable a palm frond Or, below Argent a wayside cross Gules, at dexter Sable a wolf trap Argent.
Meaning:
The cross engrailed with label is taken from the arms of the Beissel of Gymnich kin, owners of estates in the village until 1744. The frond is an attribute of St. Castor, the local patron saint. The cross in base is representing the many local wayside crosses of the same type. The wolf trap is Z-shaped and blasoned as a milrind. It is taken from the family arms of the Metzenhausen kin, vassals of the Archbishopric of Trier from 1493 until 1799.

Shield Gules a hunting horn Argent; mantled Argent, at dexter charged with a wing Sable, at sinister parted by a centred cross Gules, chief chequered of Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
The arms are alluding to the common court of justice of three parties: the Archbishops of Trier, represented by the cross, the Farther County of Sponheim, represented by the chief, and the Barons of Braunshorn, represented by the horn, a differentiation of their family arms, which displayed three horns. The wing is taken from the arms of the Knights of Keyser in Owilre.
