Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The green shield is divided by a golden (= yellow) sinister bend wavy. Above right are two plough shares, below left is a cog wheel, all in golden (= yellow) colour.
Meaning:
The sinister bend is symbolizing the Düpenau creek. The plough shares are symbolizing agriculture, the predominating branch of economy until the 50ies of the 20th century. The cog wheel is symbolizing industry, which incresed some 20 years later. The green colour is symbolizing agriculture and nature (German: Stadt im Grünen). The yellow colour is symbolizing prosperity.
