Roggenburg Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, on a triplemount Vert three rye ears Or, mantled Argent, a dexter a sinister facing beaver rampant Sable, holding a fish Argent by his mouth, at sinister quartered of Argent and Sable.
Meaning:
The municipal arms in the 17th century had been those of the chancellory of the Premonstratensian Roggenburg Abbey, which was established in 1126 by the Lords of Bibereck and Countess Demuth of Zollern. The rye ears (German: Roggenähren) are canting elements. The beaver is taken from the arms of the Bibereck kin, the quartered shield from those of the Zollern kin.
