Dietfurt Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a bend Argent charged with a heraldic rose Gules seeded Or.
Meaning:
There had been two seals in the 14th century with prints since 1408, displaying the rose unseeded, one of them with an initial "D" on its centre. The current pattern first appeared on a secret seal from 1480 and on numerous coloured paintings in the end of the 15th century, in the beginning with a bend sinister. The rose probably is taken from the arms of the Burgraves of Riedenburg, who had graet influence in the valley of the Altmühl River until the end of the 12th century, when they died out. There arms were also depicted in the Codex Manesse, the Heidelbergian manuscript of songs. Its main part was completed in 1304.
