Ergolding Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent an eradicated linden Vert, at sinister Azure a chevron Argent pointing to sinister.
Meaning:
The linden is a representation of the local court, which had been here since the times of the Carolingians and later of the Aglolfingian dukes. Ergolding kept a local court until the 17th century. The linden tree on the court square still exists. The chevron is taken from the seal of Thomas of Ergolfing from 1296 and is alluding to his kin. The tinctures silver and blue are those of the Wittelsbach kin, to which the town near Landshut historically belonged. The rights of a market were received in 1976.
