Steinfeld Coat of Arms

Shield Vert, issuant from an escutcheon Argent in base, charged with a minuscule "N" Sable topped by a crosslet of the same, a saint proper with fair hair, nimbed Argent, pierced by two arrows Or and holding two more of them in saltire by his dexter hand, on dexter chief an escutcheon parted by a fess dancetty with three point of Gules and Argent, on sinister chief an escutcheon Or parted by a bend Gules.
Meaning:
The saint, St. Sebastian recognisable by his attributes the arrows, was already depicted on a local seal from the 18th century. Minuscule and crosslet are taken from the arms of the Dominican Neustadt Nunnery, to which Steinfeld belonged for a long time. The so called Franconian rake at dexter is alluding to the fact, that the village belonged to the Bishopric of Würzburg until 1803. The sinister escutcheon displays the arms of the Grand Duchy of Baden, to which Steinfeld belonged until 1819, before it was acquired by Bayern.
