Esselbach Coat of Arms

Shield Vert a bend sinister Argent charged with a postal horn Azure.
Meaning:
Esselbach is located alongside the important highway between Würzburg and Frankfurt upon Main, which crossed the Spessart, a forest. The village belonged to the Archbishopric of Mainz until the 14th century. The archbishops established a coaching inn, symbolised by the horn. The inn was acquired by the Barons of Thurn and Taxis in 1617. The green colour is symbolising the Spessart, the bend sinister the highway.
