Moos Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, divided by a throughout centred cross Gules, in centre superimposed by an inescutcheon Azure, charged with a fish Argent in bend.
The municipalities Bankholzen, Iznang, Moos proper and Weiler merged on 1 October 1974. All belonged historically to the Bishopric of Konstanz until 1803, partially since 1497, partially since 1513. All adopted arms between 1903 and 1904. All former arms already contained the red cross of the bishopric. The inescutcheon is a modified version, taken from the old arms of Moos. The inescutcheon there displayed the fish on a blue bend wavy Azure in a golden shield. The fish was representing the importance of fishery in the old arms and was considered as also fitting the location of the new municipality on Höri peninsula.
