Oberleichtersbach Coat of Arms

Shield quartered, 1st and 4th quarter Argent parted by a centred facetted cross Sable, 2nd and 3rd quarter parted per bend double embattled of Or and Gules.
Meaning:
The municipal arms are the personal arms of Abbot Placidus of Droste (1678 - 1700) of the Fulda Abbey. He built the local parish church, dedicated to St. Peter and St.Paul. The cross furthermore displays the arms of the abbey, to which the village belonged from the 9th century until 1803.
