Großweil Coat of Arms

Shield Azure parted by a bar wavy Argent, above a farmhouse Or, beneath a raft's rudder in bend, a hayfork in bend sinister and a quarry hammer in pale, all Or.
Meaning:
The bar wavy is representing the Loisach, a little river crossing the municipality. The farmhouse is representing the local open air agricultural museum and is canting for the suffix "-weil", which is derived from the Latin word "villa" (= cottage). The rudder is symbolising rafting, the hayfork agriculture and the hammer the local marble quarries and brown coal mining. The latter was discontinued in 1962. The blue colour is representing sky, mountains and lakes and alluding to a promotion slogan, which denoted some municipalities in the area as "The blue Country".
