Mauth Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter barry of four of Argent and Azure, at sinister Gules, over all issuant from base a triplemount Or charged with a halberd issuant Sable.
Meaning:
The golden triplemount is reminding on the so called golden path, a road between Passau and Böhmen (Bohemia), where salt had been transported. The local tollgate (German: Mautstelle) was name giver of the village (1699). The halberd is also alluding to the tollgate. Above the mount are the personal arms of Passau´s Bishop Count of Lamberg, who caused the local peopling by forest clearance in the late 17th century.
