Meaning: The upper half displays the differentiated arms of the Archbishopric of Bamberg, local ruler for centuries. Its chapter had been the greatest manorial lord in the village, based on the estates of the Lords of Gründlach-Brauning. The bendy half in base is taken from their family arms. The spearhead is taken from the arms of the Lords of Stiebar of Buttenheim, who owned large estates in the village between 1511 and 1738.
