Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above quartered, 1st and 4th quarter Or three chevrons Gules, 2nd quarter a lion passant sable, 3rd quarter a sinister facing lion passant Sable; beneath Gules a Paschal Lamb Argent, issuant from base a triplemount Argent charged with a wolf trap Sable.
Meaning:
The arms are known from mayor's seals with prints since 1586 the colours are known since the 17th century. The upper part of the arms displays the arms of the Counts of Hanau-Lichtenberg, former local rulers. The Paschal Lamb is a canting element (Schaf = sheep). The wolf trap is the old village symbol and was carved into local boundary stones and the local chalice of 1504 and on a description of the local borders from 1589.
The current arms were proposed in 1956.
