Stamsried Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a flax brake Or under a fess dancetty Argent.
Meaning:
Stamsried gained the rights of a market town in 1580. The fess dancetty is taken from the arms of the Lords of Murach in Guteneck and Stamsried. It appeared first alone but with the name of the town on a seal with prints from 1639 and 1700, but it was probably made before 1585. The brake and an additional tree on a mountain were added in 1897. Tree and mount were caused by a misinterpretation of an angel on the first seal and were omitted later. The brake is symbolising the production of linen.
