Description of the Flag

The flag and arms of Anitápolis are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 547 promulgated on 13 December 2002.

Article 1.
The flag of the municipality of Anitápolis shall have the following characteristics.
Three vertical stripes: Green (40 cm in width), white (50 cm in width), and red (40 cm), 90 cm in length. The coat of arms of the municipality centered in the white stripe, of 35 cm in length on 36 cm in width. Green and white symbolize subordination to the Federation (colors of the national flag), while red symbolizes subordination to the unity of the Federation.

Article 3.
The coat of arms of the municipality shall have the following characteristics.
1 - A potato plant, dark green.
2 - A maize plant, green with yellow cobs.
The two branches tied by a golden yellow scroll outlined in brown, inscribed "Anitápolis - 29 de dezembro de 1961" in brown letters.
3 - Between the branches:
a) The soil, prepared for sowing, featuring three cropping tools: a hoe, an axe and a miner's hammer (gray) outlined in black and with crossed handles (brown).
b) In the background, Serra Geral with the western sun disc on a blue sky.
3.1. The Serra, dark green and brown.
3.2. The soil, light brown with dark brown strips.

Article 4. The municipal symbol shall have the following description.
1 - Potato and maize plants: The municipality's main producing force.
2 - Serra do Tabuleiro: Anitápolis belongs to the region of Greater Florianópolis.
3 - Western sun: The sun, disappearing behind the mountains on a blue sky, as a natural amazing vision.
4 - Soil: The municipality's income, mostly based on agriculture.
5 - Hoe and axe: Represent traditional agriculture.
6 - Miner's hammer: Rich underground.
7 - Scroll: Municipality's date of inauguration.

Article 7.
The flag and coat of arms of the municipality of Anitápolis were elaborated and designed by inhabitants João de Almeida Coelho Sobrinho and Waldir Stüpp, on 11 June 1977, who transferred their rights of use to the municipality of Anitápolis.
