The Wangi Sailing Club was founded but a group of people, with a focus on
sailing for sport and recreation. The Wangi RSL Club had a purpose that was
similar enough, that during COVID times it was decided to create a single Wangi
RSL Amateur Sailing Club out of them. Both parts bring their strengths to the
two clubs joined at the hip. Their documents show they are not yet truly a
single club, but this may come to pass over time.
Regarding the burgee,
their constitution tells us:
7 Corporate Images
7.1 Club Colours
The
club colours of the company shall be royal blue, white and red
And then
the club burgee follows. There's no mention of a previous burgee for either
club. Nothing is said about the details of the burgee, though I would hazard the
guess that the "W" in the burgee might stand for "Wangi Wangi".
