The current state flag of Ngchesar has six stars surrounding a bird, which is facing the hoist, on a green background. An earlier version of the flag had the bird facing the fly end of the flag on a blue-green background.

According to http://pacificdigitallibrary.org, green represents the lush tropical jungle of Ngchesar. The bird is the "ochaio", the Ngchesar State bird. The six stars represent the six traditional hamlets, now called counties, that is, Ngersuul, Ngerngesang, Ngerwikl, Ngerkesou, Ngchesar and Ngeraus.

“Ochaio,” the state’s spirit god comes in the form of both the hawk-face spotted stingray and the Audubon's shearwater bird. Even today, the fish and the bird should not be caught or injured by anyone with blood relations to the people of this state as it is believed that doing so will result in disastrous consequences. The Previous Flag

The first flag of Ngchesar was a blue-green flag, with six stars surrounding the bird in the center of the flag. The bird was facing the fly end of the flag. In the current flag, the bird is facing the hoist of the flag and the background color is green.
