Blazon: Venstre skrådelt av sølv og blått ved tindesnitt. In English: Per
bend sinsitre embattled argent and azure.
Approved by the royal resolution of 19 August 1988 after a drawing by Asbjørn
Heggem.
The municipal web site claims that the flag is in the ratio 2:3

The design represents the municipal map in the Northwestlands with three fjords:
Halsafjord, Skålvikfjord and Valsøyfjord, protruding inlands (and not three
peninsulas with five fjords as stated on
http://www.ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Halsa)
Unlike the name provided by the municipal web site, the [c2j88] credits the design to Jarle Skuseth.
