Overview

On 1 October, 1991, a merger of two former village – Balatonboglár and Balatonlelle, which has been a town as Boglárlelle since 1986, had been abolished – and at the same time, both settlements became towns.

Balatonboglár is situated in northern part of Somogy county, along southern beach of Lake Balaton.
