The flag of Canelinha is prescribed by Municipal Law No. 268 promulgated on
9 September 1977.
Article 1.
The municipal flag shall have the
following heraldic description: Horizontally divided into three fields, the
upper field blue, the lower field also blue, and the central field white,
charged in the center with the coat of arms of the municipality.
Article
2.
The coat of arms of the municipality, as established by Law No. 267
promulgated on 10 August 1977, shall be placed in the center of the flag, its
outer ornaments omitted and restricted to the shield proper.
Article 3.
The features of the municipal flag shall obey the following rules.
I - The
flag shall be 20 units in width.
II - The flag's length shall be 1.26 m.
III - The flag shall be horizontally divided into three parts, or fields, each
of 29.5 cm in width.
IV - The field of the shield of arms, in compliance
with the usual format of the so-called Portuguese shield, shall be composed of
a quadrilateral of 57 units in width on 57 units in length.

The coat of arms of Canelinha is prescribed

A Portuguese shield. In upper dexter canton, the stylized representation of a
factory on a white field; in the upper sinister canton, the stylized
representation of two cogwheels on a white field. In the lower canton, the
stylized representation of a tractor on a brown field and, in perspective view,
a plantation. A mural crown argent filled in red with four towers with red
ports. The writing "Canelinha" argent on a red scroll with date "23-12-1962".
