The band

Tsawwassen First Nation (Tsawwawwen Indian Band under the Indian Act, terms considered as no longer appropriate by the Tsawwassen Legislature) are a self-governing Coast Salish nation; they speak a dialect of the Hun'qum'i'num language. Detailed maps of the Tsawwassen Lands (Tsawwassen Reserve under the Indian Act), located in the Greater Vancouver area, are available as appendices of the Tsawwassen First Nation Final Agreement, adopted on 25 June 2007 by the Tsawwassen First Nation and passed on 17 June 2008 by the House of Commons ("An Act to give effect to the Tsawwassen First Nation Final Agreement and to Make Consequential Amendments to Other Acts", short title "Tsawwassen First Nation Final Agreement Act"), with effect on 3 April 2009.
