In the Constitution of the Métis Nation of the South is stated that "our people occupy our Ancestral Territory, currently known as southern Canada, the United States, northern Mexico, and their surrounding areas".

According to their website, this group is a broader group than the group commonly known as the "Métis". They seem to include all people of mixed Native American with European or even African ancestry; this includes the Mestizos of Mexico, which (if I understand correctly) is the majority of Mexicans.
