Introduction: The Raiders Franchise
Oakland Raiders (1960-1981), Los Angeles Raiders (1982-1994), Oakland Raiders (1995-present)

The Raiders are an American professional football team currently playing for Oakland, California. The franchise was formed in 1960 as part of the new American Football League (AFL) formed as competition for the older National Football League (NFL). The team began playing their home games at the Oakland Alameda Coliseum. Ten years later in 1970 the AFL and the NFL merged, and the Oakland Raiders play as part of the American Football Conference (AFC) West, a division of the NFL. During their first stay in Oakland they captured two Super Bowl championships.
In 1982, the Raider franchise relocated the team to Los Angeles leaving behind their loyal Bay Area fan base in the search for better conditions, both financially and facility-wise. In 1983 the franchise as the "Los Angles" Raiders captured their third, and to date, last Superbowl championship. They played a total of nine seasons in Los Angles before they returned to their old haunts in Oakland in 1995. In 2002 the once again "Oakland" Raiders returned to the Super Bowl for a fourth time, but lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since that loss, they have struggled to obtain a winning record (winning more than half their games) during their regular seasons. The franchise is now currently in negotiations with Los Vegas, Nevada, in search of yet another new home when their current contract with Oakland ends in 2019.
Note: Be aware that there are a host of manufacturer's variants of these and other fan flags being marketed for Raider fans. This includes garden flags, banners, and pennants.

Fan Flags

Raider Nation Flag

The nickname Raider Nation refers to the die hard fans who arrive at the Oakland Alameda Coliseum early to tailgate (a pregame party served from the tailgates of pickup trucks) and wear bizarre face masks and black outfits.

Raiders Country Flag

A specific area of the Oakland Coliseum (sections 104-107) seems to hold the Raider's most colorful and rowdy fans. The section is sometimes called "The Black Hole", defiantly considered a part of the Raider's Country.

This flag is sold for those divided households where one partner is a Raider fan and the other one supports their rival from across the San Francisco Bay. There are many variants of this flag replacing the rival teams side of the flag with the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams, etc.
