"It is known since 1575 when king Stephan Batori granted a status of a regimental town to it.According to other souces the town appeared in 1530 when it was given the Magdeburg Right and an emblem - in an azure field there was an or patty cross in the upper part and in base there was an argent eight-pointed star."
