Presentation of the BDP

The BDP was founded in 2008 as successor to the DTP (Demokratik Toplum Partisi) and was the main Kurdish party in Turkey. Twenty-nine of its members were elected to the Parliament as independents in 2011. In spring 2014 most of its Members of Parliament switched to its "fraternal" party, the HDP (Halkların Demokratik Partisi). The remainder of the party changed name to DBP (Demokratik Bölgeler Partisi - Democratic Regions Party), that is only active on a local level.

Flag of the BDP

The main flag of the BDP (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo) is yellow with the party symbol in the centre. The symbol is a green oak combined with the party name and party abbreviation in red, enclosed by a (usually) red circle.
The party flag came in several different versions:

Flag of the DBP, horizontal and vertical versions - Images by M. Schmöger, 6 April 2015

The flag of the DBP is green with the party's symbol, either as a horizontal flag (photo, photo) or as a vertical flag (photo, photo, photo). At least according to the photographs, the green background color seems to differ remarkably.

The flag is also used with yellow stars and inscription (photo).
