The shield of the arms is Gules a craggy mount of three coupeaux garnished Sable (acc. to Portuguese blazon: masoned), in chief a bendy key Or and a sinister bendy key Argent, both set per saltire, tied Or with their wards turned to the chief. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "PENHAS JUNTAS".
Meaning:
"Penhas juntas" is slightly old fashioned Portuguese for "joint (or conjoined) crags": The arms are canting. The pair of keys is the usual attribute of St. Peter.
