About the Flag

Surely the flag was changed in 2004.12.09, when Sabugal was promoted to city rank. The town flag wass a quite typical Portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain white background.
António Martins-Tuválkin, 28 Nov 2006

The previous arms were adopted and published in the official journal _Diário do Governo : II Série_ in 1964.03.13. The Black Elders are canting, as "sabugal" is Portuguese for "elderwood".
