Coat of arms

Shield Gules divided by two pales Or, superimposed in centre by a bar wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, in chief scales balanced on a sword flamy in counterchanged colours, in base a grapevine Purpure leaved Argent. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "BÁRRIO - PONTE DE LIMA".
Meaning:
Sword and scales are an attribute of St. Michael, the local patron saint.

Bárrio Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of the Ponte de Lima municipality (q.v.); it had 354 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 5.3 km².

Coat of arms

Shield green, a two level tower Argent masoned Sable with port and windows Gules, flanked at dexter top by a scallop Or garnished Sable (acc. to Sérgio Horta: Gules), base wavy of Argent and Azure. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "CEPÕES - PONTE DE LIMA".
Meaning:
The scallop is an attribute of the local patron saint St. James of Compostela.
