About the Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain red field.

Coat of arms

Shield Or, two lyres Gules ordered per fess, in chief a dolmen Sable, in base an eradicated bean plant Vert blossomed Gules and Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll (Bénard Guedes style) with inscription in black capitals "CUNHA BAIXA".
Meaning:
The dolmen is symbolizing the very old age of the first settlement at this place. The lyres are representing the many local marching bands. The bean plant is representing agriculture as the main business line.
