Shield Or, a bar wavy Azure charged with a barrulet wavy Argent, superimposed by two swords Argent hilted Gules, crossed per saltire and pointing downwards, in chief a cross fleury Vert. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ARCOS - ESTREMOZ".
Meaning:
The cross fleury is referring to the Avis Order, local ruler of nearly the whole municipality between 1250 and 1821.
