The arms are Argent five crescents Purpure in quincunx, in chief Gules an coronet Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "REAL - CASTELO DE PAIVA".
Meaning:
It was once a fiefdom of of the Pinto family ( Qormi, citta Pinto, in Malta) and the communal arms are modified from its historical blazon,changing Gules to Purpure; the chief is canting, as "real" means (also) "royal".

Presentation of Real

Real Commune is one of the six communes of Castelo de Paiva Municipality (q.v.); it had 1300 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 33.1 km².
