It is a fairly typical portuguese communal flag,
with the coat of arms centered on a plain
white background. The banner should have silvery and green tassels and
cord, and golden pole with spear finial. Flag and arms adopted and published in

The arms are Vert a coat of arms Argent charged with a St. James cross Gules and in chief two windmill wheels Or cordoned Or and sailed Agrent and in base three barrulets wavy Argent. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (commune rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "Cristelo - Caminha".
Escudo de verde, uma cota de armas de prata carregada de uma cruz da Ordem de Santiago, de vermelho; em chefe, duas armações de moinho de ouro, cordoadas do mesmo e vestidas de prata e, em campanha, três burelas ondadas do mesmo.
