It is a fairly typical portuguese municipal flag, with the
coat of arms centered on yellow and
purple quarterly (town rank) background.

The arms
are Argent a bunch of grapes Purpure leaved Vert and on a bordure Sable
eight ears of wheat Or set in orle and poiting clockwise. Mural crown
argent with four visible towers (town rank)
and white scroll reading in
black upper case letters "Vila do Cadaval".

The symbolsm of these arms seems to be trivially based on the local
(importance of) agricultural produce.
