Shield Azure, with base wavy of Argent and Azure, issuant from base a throughout bridge Argent masoned Sable and having three arches, in chief a calvary Argent flanked by a fessy palm leaf Or at dexter and a fessy scimitar Or at sinister. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "ARCOS DE VALDEVEZ (S. PAIO)".
Meaning:
The base wavy is representing Vez River, the name giver of the municipality.

São Paio Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Arcos de Valdevez Municipality (q.v.); it had 1147 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 3.6 km².

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain red field.

Coat of arms

Shield Argent semy of corn cobs Or leaved Vert, an embattled tower Gules masoned Or with port and windows Argent crowned by two ravens statant affronty Sable eyed Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "GIELA".
Meaning:
The ravens might be attributes of St. Vincent, but I am not sure, whether he is the local patron saint.
