Rzgów city and commune

Here is the flag of the city and commune of Rzgów in Łódź-wschod county, Łódzkie wojwodship, as presented at the city's website.
Flag adopted 28 May 2001
Description: two horizontal stripes of white and blue, in top hoist the communal arms.
Arms: azure St. Stanislaus argent with halo and crozier or.

Stanislaus (1030-1079) was born in Szczepanow near Kraków, where he became bishop in 1072. He incurred the enmity of King Boleslaus the Bold when he denounced the king's kidnapping of the beautiful wife of a nobleman. When Stanislaus excommunicated the king and stopped services at the cathedral when Boleslaus entered, Boleslaus himself killed Stanislaus while the bishop was saying Mass in a chapel outside the city on April 11. Stanislaus has long been the symbol of Polish nationhood and is the principal patron of Kraków.
Jour de fęte 11 April.
