Brodnica - rural commune, Brodnica County, Kujawsko-pomorskie Voivodship - German name: Strasburg.
Gmina Brodnica is a rural gmina (commune) in Brodnica County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodship, in north-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Brodnica, although the town is not part of the territory of the commune.
Area: 126.96 sq.km (49 sq.mi); Population: 6,524 (2006).

Arms and flag adopted on November 28, 2001 (resolution # XXVII/171/2001).
"Arms: on the gothic shield divided vertically into two equal parts, on the left field a palm of the right hand om the red background.
On the right, white field two wavy red ribbons in vertical position.

"Flag: a horizontal rectangle divided into two equal horizontal bands.
On the upper band, on the white background two parallel wavy red ribbons corresponding to the right field of the Arms.
Lower band is red and has, at the hoist side, a white palm of the right hand corresponding to the left field of the Arms.
Ratio of the flag is 5:8."
