Unidentified Flag in Documentary

[North Korea Without Star or Disc]

In the "CIA Secret wars" series on the National Geographic Channel, one second-or-two long sequence showed a North Korean flag without star in disc. The sequence illustrated the end of Korean War in 1953, and was of course black and white. I think it was produced by Time Watch and the theme was developing of secret weapons - hypnosis, drugs, bio-chemical weapons etc.

Unidentified Flag at Kim Jong-Il Funeral

While watching the laying in state of the former DPRK leader Kim Jong-Il, I noticed a unidntified flag at the very ends of the group of flags. From left to right, you can see this UFE, Air Force, Navy, Army, KWP, followed by a wreath, then again DPRK, Army, Navy, Air Force, UFE.

This UFE has a red background with a red star outlined in gold. There is a wreath surrounding about half of the star, as can be seen here. There is text at the bottom but the video feed is not clear at all. It might be the same flag as at here, but I cannot see the central device so I am not sure.

Perhaps the UFE you are referring to is that of the Supreme Commander?

Miles Li, 26 Dec 2011

No. The emblem is a red star with a gold outline and the star is plain red. Here is a screenshot of the video with the flag in question.
