The village emblem and the flag were adopted on Oct 11th 2005 by Ordinance No 2. The green flag has a white village emblem in the center. The village emblem is a stylized katakana チ Chi of Chikuhoku. The white color stands for its clean and clear development and the green color for an abundant nature and people’s conformity. The circle symbolizes a peace, an image of the open village  with blowing fresh winds and the villagers’wish for a reconciliation and a solidarity becoming a vigor. It represents the village’s hope for the future and a progress in a form of flying bird with spreaded wings. The flag proportion is 2:3.
