The village emblem was adopted on Sep 7th 1972 by Notice No 20 and the flag was adopted on Nov 20th 1972 by Notice No 21. The yellow green flag has a white village emblem in the center. The village emblem is a stylized katakana ア A of Asahi. The circle symbolizes the Sun and the village’s progress. As a whole, it represents an image of the village making a leap strongly in fresh streams and the green nature and with the villagers' solidarity. The white color stands for a snow of Mt. Hachimori and pure, healthy villagers character, the yellow green color for the brightness of the nature contrasting with the Sun and the village’s peace and the development. The flag proportion is 2:3.
