Presentation of Stupnik

The municipality of Stupnik (3,868 inhabitants in 2011) was formed in 1995 by parts of the town of Zagreb. Being close to Zagreb, and yet not affected by the higher taxes there, and also several important highways from Zagreb towards coast passing through it, it is a prosperous small new municipality.
This is one of those few municipalities in Croatia that have their administrative seat in a settlement of a different name than the municipality iself - in this case the village is Gornji Stupnik (1,444 inh.).
