The coat of arms of Sveti Ilija is "Quarterly, first and fourth gules a bunch of grapes vert slipped sable, second and third vert a fess wavy argent, overall a thunderbolt in pale and two arms grasping hands proper issuant from flanks clad argent".
The municipal website shows a coat of arms with slightly different details. This may mean that the municipality decided to change it unusual design and might have finally received approval from the central authorities. However, there is no hint about a new flag.
