Hrvace is located about 50 km north of Split, between the towns of Sinj and Knin, in the Cetina valley. The municipality consists of 11 villages with over 4,100 inhabitants. The largest, after which the community is named has over 1,600 inhabitants and has a long history, mentioned already in the 15th century in king Matthias Corvinus' documents, while its name is, obviously, a variant of the Croat national name. In the territory of the municipality is the Peruca dam with the largest hydroelectric plant in Croatia and a man-made lake behind it.

The symbols of Hrvace were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka, and approved by the Ministry of Administration / Central State Office for Administration before 2006.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure a bird holding a vine branch with a bunch of grapes and a leaf standing on a peka dish all or".
A peka is a kind of cutlery ironware used for preparing food set under it and then covered with inflamed ashes, being a traditional culinary method in the region.
