Donja Motičina is located some 60 km south-west of Osijek. It has 1,865 inhabitants according to the 2001 census, 1,310 living in the village of the same name.
The municipality was formed in 1997 by secession from the municipality of Feričanci, which was until then part of
Požega-Slavonia County.

The flag of Donja Motičina (municipal website) is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure a heart or and in the chief wavy an eel maroon".
The heart apparently represents the Feast of Sacred Heart the town celebrates as its day. The eel most probably stand for the fish ponds as important tourist industry.

The ceremonial flag is a blue gonfalon with three triangularly ending tails with golden tassels. In the middle is the coat of arms, the name of the town above and golden ornaments in the tails - grapevine and oak branches in the side tails and a triple wattle ornament in the central tail.
