Presentation of Strahoninec

Strahoninec is located due south of Čakovec and it is its suburbs. Population is about 2,600 inhabitants in the town of the same name and probably few hundreds more in the surrounding villages.

Flag of Strahoninec

The symbols of Strahoninecwere designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka, and approved by the Ministry of Administration / Central State Office for Administration before 2006.

The flag (photo of the ceremonial flag) is in proportions 1:2, red with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

Coat of arms of Strahoninec

The coat of arms is "Azure a whip embowed-counterembowed or and in base a stump eradicated also or".
The whip alludes to the name of the municipality, strah meaning "fear", and the whip forms a letter "S".

The symbols of Strahoninec reported on 12 November 2003 in the local newspaper Međimurske novine (Dobili grb, zastavu i dva nova vjećnika) were proposals, with reverted colors, blue for the flag and red for the field of the coat of arms.
