The symbols of Donji Kraljevec are prescribed by Decisions Odluka o zastavi Općine Donji Kraljevec (flag) and Odluka o grbu Općine Donji Kraljevec (coat of arms), both adopted on 9 December 2004 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 23 December 2004 in the County official gazette Službeni glasnik Međimurske županije, No. 16.
The Decision of the coat of arms was superseded by Decision Odluka o grbu Općine Donji Kraljevec, adopted on 19 November 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 23 November 2009 in Službeni glasnik Međimurske županije, No. 20 (text). The new Decision is virtually the same with minor adjustments in administrative terminology and blazon, probably suggested by the Ministry of Administration when approving the design.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag is prescribed as follows:

The flag is single-colored white/silver, with a ratio of its length to its width of 2:1, in accordance to the legal prescriptions. In the middle of the flag, at the crossing points of the diagonals, is the coat of arms on both sides, edged with a golden/yellow outline.

The coat of arms is prescribed in the original Decision as follows:

In a triangular heart-shaped shield in the chief in green a golden/yellow crown and below in silver/white a black horse rearing to the right.

In the new Decision, the horse is described as "a little horse sable rampant".
The arms are canting, since the name of the municipality means something like "King's Town".
