The municipality of Agia Paraskevi (Αγία Παρασκευή; 59,500 inhabitants in 2001, 794 ha), named after St. Paraskevi of Rome, is a northeastern suburb of Athens, located about nine km away from the town centre. It is linked to Athens by Mesogeion Avenue, a major road in the Greater Athens area. Agia Paraskevi operates the nuclear research center "Demokritos", which hosts the sole nuclear reactor in Greece. It is also home of the Greek Ministry of Agriculture.
The municipality was not changed with the 2011 local government reform.

The flag of Agia Paraskevi is white with the municipal emblem in the center. The former version of the flag (Kokkonis website) featured a very similar emblem in different colors.
