Flag of Corrèze

The Departmental Council of Corrèze uses a white flag with a simplified version of the Council's logo (photo, photo), omitting the words "le départementy".

The logo was adopted in 2002 by the General Council, with the following description:

Summing up alone the personality of the department, the seven letters composing the word "Corrèze" constitute the basis of the graphical argument. To transform the word "Corrèze" into a brand, the logotype highlights a different and unique writing, without any possible confusion. The two central "R" of "Corrèze" are twinned, expressing the facets of a rich department, proud of its past and turned towards the future.
Thus connected, these two consonants symbolize the inhabitants' capacity for openness, and a form of equilibrium also symbolized by the Yin and the Yang, the masculine and the feminine.
To accompany this visual discourse, the logotype has three chestnut leaves, main tree in Corrèze and in Region Limousin. Presented in a flight dynamics, this light and airy plant trilogy is a sign of balance, between the three arrondissements of the department: Brive, Tulle, andUssel.
