The municipality of Peleas de Abajo (288 inhabitants in 2009; 1,189 ha) is located in the south-center of the Zamora Province, 15 km from the provincial capital.

The flag and arms of Peleas de Abajo are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 3 July 2002 by the Municipal Council, signed by the Mayor on 17 November 2004 and published on 30 November 2004 in the official gazette of Castile and Leon, No. 231, p. 17,293. The symbols are described as follows:
Municipal flag: Rectangular flag with proportions 2:3, made of a red triangle with its vertices in upper and lower hoist and in the midpoint of the fly, with a white Cross of St. John, the upper triangle yellow and the lower triangle blue.Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Gules a Cross of St. John of Jerusalem argent, 2. Argent a grapevine vert fructed gules, Grafted in base wavy azure and argent. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
