The municipality of Carpio (often called El Carpio; 1,100 inhabitants in 2009; 5,683) is located in the south-east of Valladolid Province, 60 km from the provincial capital.

The flag and arms of Carpio, designed by "Instituto Borbone de Heráldica Municipal," are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 22 March 2005 by the Municipal Council, signed by the Mayor on 5 April 2005 and published on 27 May 2005 in the official gazette of Castile and Leon, No. 101, p. 9,271. The symbols are described as follows:
Municipal flag: Square panel with proportions 1:1, horizontally divided into three equal parts, green on top, red on bottom and white in the middle, the middle stripe charged with the municipal coat of arms in full colors.Coat of arms: Per fess, 1. Gules a castle or, 2. Vert a flame or surrounded by two spikes of the same on the division a fess argent. [Crown not mentioned]
