Antonio Herrera Casado (b. 1947; official Chronicler of the Province of Guadalajara) points out that the provincial arms are not representative of the territory, ignoring towns of human and economical significance, such as Jadraque and Mondéjar, and towns of historical significance as well, such as Hita, Uceda and Zorita. Moreover, the present-day's administrative organization of the province has been reduced to three judiciary parties, Molina de Aragón, Guadalajara, and Sigüenza.
From an heraldic point of view, such arms filled with a great number of divisions and charges are no longer suitable.
